FLOW-CAM
FLOATING OFFSHORE WIND TURBINE CABLE MONITORING

The FLOW-CAM (Floating Offshore Wind Turbine Cable Monitoring) project aims to detect and monitor the structural and operational conditions of underwater cables of offshore wind turbines. Mechanical, electrical and thermal damage mechanisms of underwater cables will be inspected with the multi-physics model to be developed by three project partners from Turkey and three project partners from France. By generating new models for failures, new Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) will be developed, based on the use of multi-sensing systems, underwater remotely operated vehicle and AI-based data analytics.

Within the scope of the project, TROY IOT is responsible for the development of data processing and artificial intelligence platforms and methods. The secure digital platform developed will enable remote monitoring of underwater dynamic and static cables in real-time. ROV (Remotely Operated Vehicle) integration with secure digital platform, identification of data collection, storage and processing methodology, development of algorithms for AI and machine learning, graphical user interfaces for data analytics visualization and integration of monitoring data with AI models and predictive models are among the tasks to be accomplished.

FLOW-CAM is the MarTERA ERA-NET Cofund project supported under the European Union’s HORIZON 2020 program.
